Cookie Policy

This page lists every cookie and every piece of browser storage Fresherz actually uses. It is a short list on purpose. We run no advertising cookies, no tracking pixels and no third-party analytics. Nothing here follows you to another website.

What a cookie is

A cookie is a small piece of text a website asks your browser to keep and send back on the next request. "Local storage" is similar, except it stays in your browser and is never sent anywhere. We use both, for the small number of things listed below.

Cookies we set

  • fresherz-session — Keeps you signed in. Without it you would have to enter your password on every page. How long: 120 minutes of inactivity Type: Strictly necessary

  • XSRF-TOKEN — Protects against cross-site request forgery — it proves a form was submitted from our own pages and not from a hostile site. How long: Same as the session Type: Strictly necessary

  • NEXT_LOCALE — Remembers that you pressed the বাংলা or English switch, so we do not put you back in the other language next time. How long: One year Type: Preference

The session cookie is HTTP-only, which means JavaScript cannot read it, and it is sent only over an encrypted connection. It is set on .fresherzjob.com so that the website and the API can recognise the same visit.

We do not guess your language. Almost every phone in Bangladesh reports Bangla whether or not its owner wants to read a job board in Bangla, so we leave you on the page you clicked and only remember a choice you made yourself.

Things we keep in your browser (not cookies)

  • fresherz.session — A note of whether you are signed in, so that signing out in one tab signs you out in the others. Where: Local storage

  • fresherz:last-login — Which method you used to sign in last time — password or Google — so we can put it first. Where: Local storage

  • fresherz.console.toggled — Which sections of the admin console you had collapsed. Staff accounts only. Where: Local storage

  • Sign-up prompt counters — How many pages you have read, so we show a sign-up prompt once and not again. Where: Session storage, cleared when you close the tab

None of this is sent to us or to anybody else. It lives in your browser and clearing your browsing data removes it.

Analytics

There is no analytics on Fresherz today. The site is built so that Google Analytics 4 could be switched on by the operator, and until a measurement ID is configured no script is loaded and no request is made to Google. If we ever turn it on, we will update this page first, and we will keep IP anonymisation switched on so Google receives a truncated address rather than yours.

Third parties

If you choose Sign in with Google, Google sets its own cookies on accounts.google.com during the sign-in. That is Google's page and Google's policy, not ours. If a company has embedded a video on its page, the video host may set cookies when you play it.

Controlling cookies

Your browser can block or delete cookies. Blocking the two strictly necessary ones will stop you signing in — there is no way around that, because they are the sign-in. Blocking NEXT_LOCALE only means we forget your language choice.

Why there is no cookie banner

We only set cookies that are necessary to run the service and one that records a choice you made yourself. There is nothing to consent to and nothing to opt out of, so we have not put a banner in your way. If that ever changes, the banner will arrive with it.
